I bought the Bagel Biter for my company. Management buys donuts, muffins and bagels every Friday. We slice about 4 dozen bagels every week and so far the Bagel Biter is holding up well.
We had purchased bagel cutters of different designs and they all failed within a couple of months.
I would recommend the Larien Bagel Biter to anyone who is looking for a good solid product of exceptional value.

This bagel cutter is everything the manufacturer claims it is but, in my case its of no use!! I buy my bagels from Costco and they are a good bargain; fresh, tasty and uncut. But, when trying to put them in the slicer they are too fat and wont go in without jamming! So I have two fine products that are incompatible. I investigated further and now know that I should have bought the commercial slicer.Customer Review: Gotta Have The Bagel Biter!

We use one of these at work, and it is the best thing to use to cut bagels safely. When I saw this online at such a great price, I had to have one myself. I don't know how many times I've cut my fingers using regular knives to cut bagels! This holds the bagel for you, and all you do is push the blade through the bagel. The blade is sharp enough to easily glide through with one push. It is great! This "bagel guillotine" is a great kitchen aid for any bagel lover who has the use of only one hand. The very sharp blade is surrounded by a plastic guard, so that it is difficult to cut yourself. My post-stroke, one-handed husband finds the "guillotine" very easy to use when slicing fresh bakery bagels prior to freezing.
The Bagel Biter holds a standard bagel, and slices it perfectly every time. It even slices fresh bagels (although the freshest ones have to be flattened out again after slicing). The gadget is dishwasher safe, so it is easy to clean as needed, but mostly the blade only needs wiping (carefully) with a damp cloth or paper towel, or light scrubbing with a bottle brush.
When I purchased the Bagel Biter, I thought it would soon end up in a kitchen drawer because it wouldn't be useful enough to leave out on the kitchen counter. I couldn't have been more wrong! My husband and I use the "guillotine" all the time, and we would replace it immediately if anything should happen to it. Because of its sturdy construction, it is unlikely to need replacing, unless some visitor should decide to walk off with it.

Of all the bagel slicers I have tried,the "Bagel Biter" is by far the best. It's easy to use, cuts bagels evenly in half, precludes using a bread knife and is exceptionally easy to clean. I've tried at least four other bagel slicers and this one tops them all!
