These are made of polycarbonate, which contains BPA (do a Google search and you will know). Don't get them! Get stainless steel straws instead. Don't let the toxins get into your body...Customer Review: Fatal Flaw

These straws are ALMOST perfect. I love them from a functional standpoint - they hold up well, wash up beautifully (w/o falling through the holes in my dishwasher's utensil basket), and end the money and trash out w/ disposable straws.
BUT . . . they contain BPA (I contacted Zak, the manufacturer, and they confirmed it). It's just not worth risking my children's health over. I'll consider stainless steel, but I'm not sure they'll like the feel/cold of those.

This was the cheapest yet one of the best presents I bought for my wife last year. The straws are fun and different colors which is great for parties so people know who's drink is who's. We have put these through the dishwasher probably 20 times and they are no worse for wear... haven't had to buy any conventional straws since we got these. Purchased this item to go in some of our disney straw cups (of which the straws got nasty and thrown out). Love these!! They wash great! you can actually see in them pretty well --which helps you to see if anything is inside the straw when washing! Great purchase--can't wait to get more.
