I cut my hand on the plastic sleeve; the edges are actually quite sharp, like a cut piece of plexiglass. When I contacted their customer support, they said they were sorry but that they'd never heard of that happening. I agree with the review that says this is difficult to use--my hand slipped while trying to insert the yellow tube into the sleeve, which is a bugger of a task. I love Alton Brown and FoodTV but think they need to revise the design of this product.
