Customer Review: Decent microwave, poor venting fan...

We bought this stainless steel over-the-range microwave as part of our kitchen renovation project and had it professionally installed over our cooking range. One of the factors in choosing this microwave was its lower price.
We have no complaints with the microwaving functions. They work fine and as described. The interface is fairly intuitive and has some useful features like an "add 30 seconds" button as well as "quick touch" buttons for popcorn, pizza, beverage, and other items. It also has a demo mode for learning the features.
There is a center cooking rack that is removable to accommodate larger dishes, and a turntable at the bottom. The three speed venting fan doubles as the cooling fan for the microwave. It turns on automatically if the microwave oven gets hot for any reason.
While we felt the microwave features work fine, the venting fan leaves some things to be desired. First, it is somewhat noisy in "High" and "Medium" modes. Secondly, the fan's suction is poor. The venting fan is able to adequately remove steam when you simmer items on your cooking range. However, for medium cooking jobs, like boiling vegetables or pasta on your cooking range, the venting fan does not remove the steam fast enough, resulting in the exterior of the microwave cabinet getting steamed up.
I guess the old adage holds true this time - you get what you pay for!
