Customer Review: Great juicer for smoothies and protein shakes

I love my Vitamix! It makes great smoothies that are healthy. The receipes for vegetable shakes and fruit shakes are really good however I tried to make the soup receipes and they were aweful! It tasted like metal because when the Vitamix gets to a certain speed it must give off a metal taste to the food. I do not recommend making any of the soup receipes. The rest of the receipes for veggie and fruit drinks are very delicious.

I love my Vita-Mix and would buy another one if I had to. Due to various health issues, I was compelled to change my eating habits because I enjoy living and wanted to continue. Since using my Vita-Mix to make green smoothies to increase my fruit and vegetable consumption, I have lost over 100lbs, no longer have to take diabetes or high blood pressure medications and haven't had to take a sick day from work in over a year! Before, I was running out of sick time as I was out every month. I feel great every day and have been featured in an article in our workplace health & fitness newsletter and I lead a walking club at my job. I wasn't even a couch potato, I was under the couch! Now, I don't even have the couch any more..I don't need to sit with all this energy! The Vita-mix is a great investment in your health and worth the expense.Customer Review: I LOVE my Vitamix!!!

I wanted a Vitamix for years before I got one, but could never make my self spend $400+ for a blender. I really wish I had gotten one sooner, I cannot say enough good things about it! I have the 5000 model and have NEVER had any problems with overheating or anything else for that matter. I make smoothies from whole fruits that are stuffed full of vitamins, antioxadants and fiber. They are so tasty that my daughter will do almost anything to get me to make her one (i.e. clean her room...it's worth it just for that!) I can make healthy frozen treats and ice creams. I hide veggies in sweet treats and the kids never know.
I feel so great after drinking my morning smoothie, it gives me tons of energy and is better than any "diet" for your health and waistline. I sold half of my kitchen small electrics in a garage sale after I bought this machine 6 months ago, I just don't need them.
I know I sound like a commercial, but I am serious.
I own a travel agency and travel to resorts all over and I noticed ALL of the really nice resorts use the Vitamix for their cocktails, not to mention most chain smoothy chains, and there is a reason. I am pretty sure if a cheaper machine would work just as well, they would use it to cut costs, but it just wouldn't. The vitamix gives a consistancy you can't get from a blender. I got mine at the Texas State Fair this last year and am SO glad I finally did. If you see one you should get it.... right then! =)

I bought mine in the mid-nineties, impressed by the reviews in Nutrition Action magazine, and have never regretted it. In fact, I have a backup one which I inherited from my mother. This way, if I ever have to send one in to be serviced, I can still use the other one. Vitamix Corporation claims (and I believe) that its being able to grind foods so fine that even strawberry seeds are pulverized releases extra nutritive value. And the fine grind makes for fabulous smoothies, custards and puree soups. I recommend purchasing both the dry and wet tops w/blades if you ever have need to grind dry foods.
Often, when a part needs to be replaced, one can simply describe the problem to the customer service department. The customer service rep invariably diagnoses the problem and sends along the needed part.
One caveat - this machine is extremely noisy! I always keep 2 pairs of industrial headphones near the unit, one pair for myself and one for anyone else who may be in the room. So if you buy a Vita Mix, buy headphones, too. And then prepare to enjoy your blender for life...

Can't say enough good things about my Vita Mix other than I use it every day since I started to make better and healthier choices for me and my family.
It's a must for smoothies and protein shakes not to mention home made salad dressings, soups, etc, etc. You will never regret the purchase and find tons of uses for it - I know I do.
