I have a very good friend who has a wine brokerage. He's a good friend to have. I'm often the guinea pig for a new vintage he's considering. So I was surprised to see him open an interesting bottle of red and pour the wine through this sleek little piece of glass and plastic. As the wine streamed through the instrument it produced an audible gurgling whir. I could see bubbles floating through the wine in the chamber before it streamed into the wine glass. It's well known that wines must breathe a bit, some more than others, to be fully appreciated. I asked him if he was joking with me. He is a jokester. However, he was insistent that he was serious and that using the Vinturi was a way of decanting wine a glass at a time. He urged me to taste the wine poured straight from the bottle and then taste the wine poured through the Vinturi. The difference was unquestionable. The wine decanted through the Vinturi was remarkably better. The model I bought was designed for red wines. There is also a model designed for whites. I'll be buying that as well. I would suggest the Vinturi as a nice gift for Christmas for the wine lovers on your list.Customer Review: As advertised.

Am quite pleased with this. While I haven't seen the dramatic difference some report, the aeration is easy and obvious.
Haven't yet tried with bruisers that need lots of opening up, but this is a heck of a lot easier than the decant.

The Vinturi Wine Aerator is an excellent product. We have been looking for an affordable aerator for over a year. Some friends have a Vinturi & recommended it to us, along with telling us that Amazon had the best price. It does a great job for "new" wines!
