Works for all types of knives, not just my Victorinox. And it works great!
Description of Victorinox 9-Inch Sharpening SteelIn 1884 Master Cutler Karl Elsner started his cutlery factory in Ibach, Switzerland and in 1897 he crafted the Victorinox Original Swiss Army Knife. Since that time the Elsner family has continued to craft tools of percision, durability and quality. Victorinox is one of the largest producers of cutlery in the world. Victorinox cutlery has been distributed in the United States since 1884 to culinary professionals under the brand name R.H. Forschner. Each blade is stamped from a single sheet of metal. The blade is then hardened, tempered, ground, polished, etched and finished. Made for Victorinox in Sheffield, England Chefs often keep a sharpening steel close at hand to continually sharpen knives during use. This cylindrical nine-inch steel in a traditional Continental cut will keep the edges razor-sharp on all Victorinox knives. Either a right- or left-handed chef can grip the polypropylene handle with its protective bolster, and a metal loop on the end allows the steel to be hung within each reach of the cutting board or countertop. Made for Victorinox in Sheffield, England, famous for its steel manufacturing, the sharpening steel is dishwasher-safe, although simply wiping off the shaft with a soft cloth is usually all that's required. Victorinox covers its products with a lifetime warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri
