I have been making bread for several years. My bread knife was rarely used because the bow type bread slicer that I had worked much better. The downside was that the bow type restricted the thickness of the bread. This knife "fills the bill". This is a great knife! I use it for a lot more than just cutting bread, which it does exceptionally well. It slices without crushing the loaves, especially crusty French and Italian style breads.
