Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 47547 10-1/4-Inch Wavy Bread Knife, Black Fibrox HandleCustomer Review: Best Knife I've Ever Owned Summary: 5 Stars
This is by far the best knife I have ever owned. I find myself using it for everything instead of just bread. It's razor sharp and the handle feels very comfortable while holding it in my hand. I never knew I could make such quick work of cutting everything. I already purchased two more for Christmas gifts.
Customer Review: Best Knife You Could Own Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this knife for $25 back in 1991 from a bakery service that delivered to my work. I was pleased from the very beginning with the effortless way the knife sliced bread without smashing. Though it is a bread knife, I also use it to slice meats, fruits, vegetables, and cakes. I've even used it to cut cardboard, plastic, and foam rubber. It can be sharpened, but I have not found the need to do so. It cuts as well as it did when I bought it. The handle is great - nestles in my hand, and it has a non-slip Fibrox surface. The blade is serrated and thin, sturdy and long. It's so long, it easily cuts through large watermelons. The knife is light and well-balanced. It is a pleasure to use. I must confess that whenever I see ads for this knife, I have to restrain myself to keep from buying another one! At about $25, it makes a perfect (and inexpensive) gift. On a scale of 1-5 stars, I rate it a HIGH 5! It exceeds all expectations. I hope you buy one, because I think you'll love it, and I'd like to hear what you think! To boot, this knife is a long-time, best-buy favorite of the cooking show, America's Test Kitchen.
Customer Review: Best bread knife Summary: 5 Stars
This is the best bread knife among several I have used; I'm with a commercial bread manufacturing company and we use this at our plants and office. It cuts very well and can be used on other produce such as lemons, tomatoes etc.; you don't need to buy an additional 5" serrated knife to match your set...needless use of money that can be allocated to a good quality end grain cutting board.
A serrated knife cannot be sharpened except by a professional with the right equipment for which they will charge handsomely; the only people professing that a store-bought knife sharpener can sharpen serrated knives are those who want to sell you sharpening equipment. This is a small investment compared to an expensive German or Japanese bread/serrated knives...use this for a year, then when it becomes dull, toss it and buy a new one that is guaranteed to be sharp.

This is the best bread knife that I have owned. It's long blade cut slices of bread evenly and gives me more control when slicing.
Customer Review: Best bread knife I ever used Summary: 5 Stars
Sure it's big -- huge, really -- but boy can it cut. I'm very satisfied.
