Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 47508 3-1/4-Inch Paring Knife

Customer Review: Good, cheap knife!
Summary: 4 Stars

I, like so many others, read about this knife in "Cooks Illustrated". It is a good little knife, no doubt about it. I do find myself reaching for it a lot. It lost some sharpness pretty quickly but sharpened back up on a rod-style sharpener and I have an electric knife sharpener that will probably work fine when the time comes. If you don't have an inclination or ability to sharpen it, then you might be disapointed down the road.

The handle is a bit dinky and the whole knife feels a little cheap compared to some of my "nicer" knives but it is extremely maneuverable and quick. Perfect for slicing an apple or other fruit. It's a nice way to round out an order for free shipping!

Customer Review: Great
Summary: 5 Stars

I love this knife and use it almost daily for fruit and it handles very well.

Customer Review: Great Knife
Summary: 5 Stars

I just love this knife. I am planning on buying three more for my relatives for Christmas presents. It does a great job plus it is very easy to use. Last night I pared white potatoes for french fries, the knife just slides over the potatoes ever so gently. For the price it is a best value.

Customer Review: Great buy!
Summary: 5 Stars

I have been pleased with other Victorinox knife purchases. This one was such a good price I bought 8 of them and shared with my friends.

It is very sharp, holds an edge, and the large handle makes it easy to use.

Customer Review: Great knife
Summary: 5 Stars

I remember having these at the house when I still lived with my parents. They were always my go-to knives (we had several) if I ever needed to cut ANYTHING. I randomly came across them at a Restaurant Supply store and had to pick one up. I love this little knife! I made bruschetta last night and slicing the tomatoes was a piece of cake. It allowed me to slice the tomato like I would an onion - and all without splattering the juices and crushing the tomatoes. That same night, I also cut the french bread into tiny crostini slices and then my lasagna with it LOL. For the record, I hate slicing bread since it gets crumbs all over the place. Crumbs were minimal with this knife. The only thing is that it IS only a paring knife and the blade is not that thick, so it's not ideal for slicing bread, but still works well. I love love love this knife!
