Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 47302 Cutlery BladeSafe for 6-Inch to 8-Inch Knife BladesCustomer Review: EXCELLENT FOR YOR FORSCHNER KNIFES Summary: 5 Stars
I KEEP MY ALL MY KNIVES (FORSCHNERS) ON THESE PROTECTORS ALL THE TIME AFTER USE, JUST WATCH THEM DRY THEM AND PUT THEM BACK WHERE THEY BELONG, I LOVE MY KNIVES AND ALWAYS KEEP THEM SHARP AND THIS IS THE BEST TO PROTECT THE SHARP EDGE AND YOU DON'T RISK GETTING CUT WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO GET A FORK OR A SPOON. A MUST HAVE IN ALL FORSCHNER KNIVES.
Customer Review: Great Value Knife Summary: 5 Stars
I recently took a knife skills class at the Chopping Block in Chicago. We experimented w/various knives, all costing well over $100. I never knew a good knife cook make such a dramatic difference. I had my heart set on a $150 knife, but being a home cook I had trouble justifying spending so much. I did research and found that the Victorinox was viewed as an excellent value, so for $25 or so I decided to give it a try. I was extremely impressed! And it was a no-brainer to get the BladeSafe to protect my investment. It's easy to use, inexpensive and protects beautifully.
Customer Review: Great for added child proofing, wish Amazon sold the smaller sizes Summary: 5 Stars
We bought this for our large chef's knife, and it does the job. Protects the knife and adds an extra layer of protection for the children. I do wish that Amazon sold the smaller sizes as well.
Customer Review: Great for those of us storing knives in a drawer Summary: 5 Stars
Like the title says, I do not use a block to store my knives, but do use these safes. I live fairly close to a restaurant supply and can pick these up (and did) for more than the cost here on Amazon. I do not hesitate reaching into the knife drawer and I no longer have to warn my guests about being careful. I also know my blades are being stored well after I hone them and put them up for the night. I have them in all sizes even down to my paring knife. The closure is quite safe as well- 2 tabs (1 for the smaller size) that you really need to press on in order to open. Those of you with young children helping may breathe a bit easier as well when their little hand goes into the drawer.
Customer Review: If you have the 8 Inch Victorinox Chef's Knife, This is the one you want Summary: 5 Stars
The Fibrox 8 Inch chef's knife just rattles around in the 8-10 inch Bladesafe holder and the rubber grippers (for lack of a better word) don't hold onto the blade. This 6-8 Inch holder fits the 8 inch blade perfectly and grips the knife quite firmly. If you own the 8-inch knife, THIS is the one you want to buy.
