This is a wonderful knife. I don't think I've used a really good knife since I was growing up. My dad was a master cook and always had good knives that he kept razor sharp, but I've never owned a good set of knives. I wanted to buy some good quality kitchen knives but didn't want to spend hundreds of dollars, so I started reading reviews here and other places online. The Forschner knives had great reviews and I liked the idea of the Fibrox handle, which is slightly textured. I feel like I made a great choice. The knife is sharp, lightweight, and has good balance. The Fibrox handle is perfect for me; easy to grip and non-slip. I have arthritis and some weakness in my hands so knives with wooden or hard handles hurt my hands. This knife is a joy to use; it makes slicing and chopping for meals fun and easy and I find myself cooking more because of it. I intend to buy more of this line of knives. The biggest problem with this knife is its name. It is NOT a chef's knife. The blade is too narrow to permit you to do the sort of chopping and rocking operations you would expect of a chef's knife. (Your knuckles just get in the way.) However, it is a fine little slicer, where you are holding the handle up a bit, and drawing the knife toward you. An excellent value for what it is, but not for what it's claimed to be.Customer Review: Not very good

For the price, it's ok. It is comfortable, and has a comfortable feel. This is a lower grade Victorinox made from stamped steel. It doesn't hold an edge very well, the steel seems too soft. The edge rolled over when I sharpened to 13 degrees. It does ok at 18 degrees, but dulls quickly.Customer Review: Outstanding Knife, Great Price

I've been looking for a replacement paring knife for a long time, and this one really suits me. Its lightweight fibrox handle fits my smallish hand perfectly. It's just the right length for all sorts of paring chores, and is also nice and sharp. The price is very reasonable as well. I get the feeling I will be using this knife for a long time to come.
