Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Victorinox 40570 Cutlery 6-Inch Chef's Knife, Black Fibrox Handle

Customer Review: It's Great!
Summary: 5 Stars

What can I say, this is a bargain! It is sharp right off the bat. I just wish the 8" Chef's knife is on the 4-for-3 promo.

Customer Review: Love this knife
Summary: 5 Stars

This line of knives are the best I have ever had. For the price you can't go wrong with any of these knives. I also own 3 1/4" and 4" paring knives, 8" and 10" chef's knives and a bread knife from this company. They are all great, but the 6" is my favorite. It fits well in my hand and is perfect for slicing or chopping vegetables. Makes cutting through potatos like cutting through soft butter. I like the 8" for cutting up chickens. The paring knives are a dream for peeling apples and pears. An occational swipe across a shapening steel keeps these knives like new.

Customer Review: Love this knife!
Summary: 5 Stars

My first Victorinox knife was the 10" chef's knife, which I liked so much, I wanted to purchase another smaller knife to add to my kitchen. I was hestiant about this knife because some of the negative reviews. But it was under $20, so why not give it a try. I have to say, my larger 10" chef's knife has now been replaced by this one as my everyday knife. It's much lighter and easier to use. I still love the 10" knife, but this 6" knife is much easier to use and control when cutting.

Customer Review: My third Victorinox knife
Summary: 5 Stars

I first bought an 8" Victorinox with a Fibrox handle (from Amazon), later a 10" with rosewood (?) handle (at a local store), and most recently this 6" knife with a Fibrox handle. You might say I am hooked on them. I hate using dull knives and the Victorinox knives retain sharpness very well and tune up with a "steel" in no time. Tho I like the look of the rosewood handle, if I were buying that knife again I'd go with Fibrox as I like the feel better. I never put them in the dish washer so they stay pristine and feel good in my hand with great balance and blade shape for ease of use.

If I were building a new knife set for general kitchen use I'd get this 6" and also either the 8" or 10" Chef's Knife with the Fibrox handles. I am a small person and the 10" blade is a bit large and unwieldy for me. I guess it also depends on how and how much you use them. I also suggest being careful of your cutting surface.

Customer Review: Nice Blade
Summary: 4 Stars

This is a really nice meat cutting knife, the handle is easy to keep clean compared to old wooden ones, hold's a good sharp edge too.
