Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Forschner / Victorinox Paring Knife, 3 1/4 in Straight, Small, Black Nylon Handle Model 40600Customer Review: Super sharp, super affordable Summary: 5 Stars
You can't beat the price - I purchased two of these. Super sharp, so sharp that I cut my thumb the first time using it! Easily handles any slicing job.
Customer Review: This is NOT the 4-inch model Summary: 1 Stars
This is NOT the 4-inch paring knife that is recommended by ATK, this is the 3-1/2-inch version. I haven't seen the 4-inch available at Amazon, but it is available elsewhere.
Customer Review: Too Small Summary: 2 Stars
I needed a paring knife and didn't pay attention to the dimensions in the listing. It's a Forschner and I knew it would be a sharp knife which it is. However the handle is way to small (diameter) for anyone with medium to large hands. It's certainly priced right.
Customer Review: Very useful! Summary: 5 Stars
This knife is deceptively lightweight, with very slim almost flexible handle and blade. It comes in a simple vinyl sleeve so at first glance it's almost cheap looking. But the minute you use it, it transforms into a precise and very effective instrument, great for delicate work that your chef's knife can't do well. This little knife is unsurpassed at paring the skin from fruits and removing pith from oranges, peppers, etc . I bought this on a recommendation by Cook's Illustrated and they are right. This knife is great value and it's a joy to use!
Customer Review: Works Well Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this brand because of the review on the PBS program "America's Test Kitchen" They called this brand of knife a good value with good performance. I find that to be true.
