As this one is made from Aluminum, I expected it to be light.. wrong. it is heavier than expected, but not too heavy. Appropriate the weight for easy and stable, reproducible tamping. yes, it is not one piece construction, but if you keep turning clockwise in finishing the surface of coffee, I don't think it matters much. Before buying this one, I was planning to buy 'better' tamper in the future and pay five times more, but now that this one works very well, I don't think I would need another tamper. it fits perfect on my Gaggia Evloution. Great item!
