We bought one of these for our summer cottage, and liked it so much we bought two more! It turns on and up (it's a 3-way) with a touch on the base, and gives a fair amount of light considering one's limited to a 60 watt bulb. I was searching for a long time for lamps for my beside tables. These were a perfect fit for my small tables. The three way lighting serves differnt moods and I have had no trouble with the voltage like other customers. The design can be useful for different types of decor. Bought this lamp for my teenage son's room after a lot of shopping around. It's cool enough for a teen & very trendy looking. He especially wanted the touch feature so he could turn it off or on without getting out of bed. Most other touch lamps were too feminine-looking. I was looking for something that would add light and look nice, without spending a lot of money. The lamps arrived in perfect condition. Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase.
