I purchased this uplight to enhance my office. I needed a good source of light behind me, that wouldn't cause a glare on my computer screen. Not only has this lamp made me much happier with the lighting in my office, I get nothing but compliments from my co-workers. Some of them have even brought their family members down to my office to see the lighting. I've also brought in a screen divider to hide boxes and used another one of these lamps to light it up from behind. It brings some elegance to an otherwise drab office space.Customer Review: A true gem!

Anybody looking for inexpensive decorating ideas should consider this lamp to create a hip loft like environment. I bought 2 to use for uplighting a brick wall in my loft. My only advice is keep the lamp away from young kids because of the glass shade. Good idea to place the lamp behind furniture, away from kids who may damage the shade.

This is NOT a touch lamp, though product description says so. Read the most recent reviews. Of about 17 or so reviews since May 24, 2010, as many as 15 says this lamp is NOT a touch lamp! Nevertheless, Amazon.com keeps selling it as a touch lamp! I've been a satisfied Amazon.com buyer for many years, but this is the first time I have encountered something as bad as this.
It is a pretty lamp, and is probably worth the price if you don't mind turning it on and off using the conventional switch on the cord. But look for something else if you want a touch lamp. I have returned it for a refund.

I read the reviews for this item prior to purchasing it. After being in the Target store today, I decided to purchase it. Although the display at the store wasn't working so I could test the lamp, I purchased it anyway. I was happy to say that the lamp was on clearance for 13.98 but actually rang up 9.98. I currently have them displayed in my bedroom. The three level touch is great. That is the feature I like the most. Now I am waiting for my husband to come home and get his feedback. I would recommend this lamp.
