Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Tovolo Star Ice Pop Molds, Set of 6, Green

Customer Review: 5 stars for price and ease
Summary: 5 Stars

After looking around for a while, these are the best priced and most durable pop molds I have found. My kids love them and I love that I can fill them with 100% juice for popsicles that are healthier and cheaper than store-bought. Run them under warm water and they pop right out.

Customer Review: A nice chilly treat!!!!

These are fantastic!!!! We love them. They are easy to get out. Take your time and gently wiggle. Hot water will melt all. My husband grabbed these all summer from the kids. I might try a beer sicle for him. LOL.... Give these a try, I haven't seen them in the stores yet.

Customer Review: Absolute necesity!

I wish I could upload a photo of my daughter enjoying her popsicles. She is 4 years old and I'm very conscientious about what she injests. I can make these popsicles with yogurt, pureed fruit, or any healthy choice. I control the ingredients. I've tried other molds, but these are really high quality, easy to use and clean and just the right size for everyone in the family! Glad I purchased! I'll be getting more for Grandma's house and for gifts!

Customer Review: Asks for them everyday
Summary: 5 Stars

My petite 19mo loves her yogurt popsicles. Good, coz she hates any milk and getting more calcium in her is one of my goals for now. I was worried that the results might be too big for her to handle but I was surprised when it's only slightly larger than the regular store bought ones. If she doesn't eat them fast enough, it does get a bit tiring for her to hold. I notice it when she lowers them down on the high chair tray between bites. So I just place it on her other hand. I can imagine it getting really heavy if fruit is added in the pops. She can finish the whole thing about 90% of the time depending on the flavor.

Making yogurtsicles is very easy, too. One Yoplait container yields two. I use a cup with a pouring lip for less mess and a 2 tsp water to keep it flowing. I'm thinking about taking a couple of molds to my visit to Florida. Makes for a more healthful snack for her.

As for freezing, I don't use the star-shaped holder because of the lack of freezer space. Therefore I just use the long and slim Dove Ice Cream Bars box. It fits five of them upright in a neat line on one side of my fridge. They keep themselves upright.

I love the holes in the stems to prevent the pops from slipping out when ready to take out and eat. Just dunk the whole thing in warm water for a few seconds, and her "opseeh-cles" are ready.

The drip catcher doesn't really catch the drips. At 19 months I expect the mess anyway and just give her the washable bib everytime she eats popsicles. I keep her confined to the high chair for it, too.

Customer Review: Awesome

These are very cute and well-designed! I have a typical freezer and had no trouble fitting the tray. From the picture I was worried about the popsicles tipping over, but the tray holds them in place nicely. As far as the popsicles being too big: they turn out about the same size as any normal, commercial one. Definitely recommend!
