exactly what I was looking for. the fine print does say its intended for cold use because you can burn your mouth when you pour, this is very true, but i really wanted that mouth peice so it was a simple fix: dont make it too hot (its not good for you anyway), also you can just unscrew the top if you want to sip it. it works great for hot and cold.Customer Review: Great thermos

This thermos is the best I have ever owned. It really does keep my coffee HOT for a very long time. Most thermoses, even when preheated with boiling water don't keep coffee as hot as this one with just using hot tap water. I generally keep it bedside and fill it with cold water. It easily keeps the water cool for 1-2 days. When in the car, it has to sit on the passenger seat due to its size. Its just far too big for most cup-holders.
This is a great bottle for hydration (large spout) but don't try hot drinks in it, you'll end up making a mess and burning yourself.

So glad I got this. Have had it about two weeks, use it every day, and it's great. No problems with leaks, keeps water cold for hours and hours, and a good size. I replaced a plastic bottle and feel much better about drinking out of this one. The plastic one was marked "BPA-free" but was cheap and from China, so who knows. I wanted something that would keep coffee hot -- or even warm -- without that icky burnt flavor of coffee when it sits on a warmer for hours. Well, I've been using this one for two weeks and it's fantastic.
At 6:15 a.m., I put a little cold half-and-half in the thermos, then fill it with hot coffee. The base is too wide to fit in my car's cup holders, but that's actually no big deal because this thing does not leak. I can lay it on the seat beside me and it's just fine. It hangs out on my desk at work, where I sip coffee from the nozzle that basically ensures that I won't spill it on myself. I've gotten busy enough that I didn't finish the coffee and at 4 p.m. it's still warm. Last night I put it to the ultimate test: I filled it at 6:15 a.m. without first "priming" it with hot water for a few minutes. I drank about half of it during the day, then finally got back to it at 10:30 p.m. It had FINALLY reached the lukewarm stage.
