We had initially purchased 2 of these a couple years ago and continued using our less than ideal other insulated mugs. Finally got fed up with them leaking and ordered 4 more of these mugs. We considered the Oxo mugs but reviews on Amazon turned us off due to numerous comments on inability to keep the top clean. The Nissan mugs are easy to clean and really keep drinks hot or cold. In order to finish a cup of coffee in an hour while watching the morning news, we have to put an ice cube in the coffee to cool it off some! We're also greatly reducing our need for ice from the ice maker when drinking cold drinks as the ice doesn't melt nearly as fast as with our prrevious inferior cups.
It was a pleasant surprise to see that there is a special promotion going on these mugs of 4 for the price of 3!

Been using it a few months now and its been perfect. Never spilled, easy to clean, very well insulated. I put my coffee in the mug in the morning, then commute for an hour to work (I just put it in my bag I trust so much it won't leak), and it is almost the same temperature when I drink it in my office. I've been using this Thermos Nissan 14-Ounce Leak-Proof Travel Mug for about a month. Since a coffee would cost me about $2/day the mug pays for itself in less than two weeks. It keeps my coffee hot and fits in my car cupholder. It has been leakproof (I just fill it, screw down the top and throw it in my backpack) and rugged (can't imagine how I might break it). I have no use for the large handle but..

I've used this mug almost daily for the past three years. I own two other (cheaper) travel mugs, and this is the only truly leak-proof mug of the three. This one also keeps beverages much, much hotter than the others. It keeps my coffee piping hot for three hours (even with the lid twisted to "DRINK").
The only drawback is the pain of washing it. Dishwater and old coffee can get stuck inside the lid. The areas behind the rubber grip and under the bottom plastic piece can also get grimy. Even after scrubbing, the plastic can retain flavors/odors (like scented lip gloss). I like to take everything apart (two lid pieces, rubber lid ring, rubber hand grip, and bottom plastic piece, mug itself) and put the pieces in the dishwasher, which is much more effective than hand-washing.
I don't want to switch to another mug, because I do think the heat retention and leak-resistance of this one are superior, and other mugs are just as difficult to clean... but I would love if Thermos would improve this mug to make it easier to clean. At the very least, as others have mentioned, the lid should be manufactured as one piece, rather than two.

I haven't found a better model or design for a mug yet. It keeps my coffee hot for at least 5 hours and seals nicely if you are on the go. It says not to wash it in the dishwasher but I have 4 of these guys and do it regularly with no problems. Great product!
