I bought this for my 6-year-old. At beginning I was worried if he couldn't open the lid all by himself at school. Now he has been using this for almost a year. He can open it most of the time easily. And just in case it is too tight, he can always get someone to help unscrew the cap during the lunch time. He never complained about that part.
The way it holds the spoon is nice. The lunch jar and the spoon always stay together. Since it is for a young kid, we only use the 2 large bowls. They did keep the food warm even in very cold winter days.
I especially like the fact that they used the steel instead of the plastic. My son dropped the jar a few times on the ground. It now has a few dents, but of course no cracks. I know Mr. Bento uses plastic, which wouldn't be very good for those young kids.

Four microwave-safe, white plastic containers stack inside, providing enough capacity for a balanced meal: salad, soup, main dish, and dessert. The main-dish container and leak-proof soup container have twist tops, while the salad and dessert containers have snap tops. A stainless steel spoon travels inside a plastic case that slips into a plastic holder attached to the tote's side, and a removable black nylon strap slips over a shoulder to keep the tote upright.
