Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Thermos Nissan 16-Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack Bottle, Smoke Color

Customer Review: Best Travel Mug Ever!
Summary: 5 Stars

I bought this for my husband and it is amazing. We poured our coffee at the same time into travel mugs, his into this one and mine into another brand. When my coffee was lukewarm, his was still piping hot. And it stayed hot for about 8 hours. I then had to buy myself one! I would highly recommend this. Except be careful if you are putting boiling water (say for tea) in here, because you can easily burn yourself because it takes a long time to cool down. Oh, also, there are no spills, so you can throw it into your backpack or purse and it won't leak.

Customer Review: Best Travel Mug to date!
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this for my morning commute to work, where I needed something that was 100% leak proof that I could easily toss in my bag without worry. This little guy totaly fit the bill, and has exceeded my expectations on all fronts... except one, hence the 4 star rating. The blue silicone stopper in the top lid is a light blue color, which is pretty at first. But after only several weeks of use, this is starting to stain as a result of contact with my coffee. While purely cosmetic, I really wish they would have constructed it out of a material that didn't stain, or made it a darker color that did not show the stain as much.

Customer Review: Cold Winter Hike
Summary: 4 Stars

I purchased this thermos after a friend recommended it for keeping liquids warm even on the coldest winter hikes. I've taken this thermos filled with hot tea on day hikes in the White Mountains in the dead of Winter, in temperatures in the single digits. There's nothing more fullfilling than reaching the peak of a mountain and viewing the splendid panorama of the surrounding moutain range, and on top of that be able to take a drink of warm tea is just icing on the cake. The peak of the mountain is dramatically colder than the base of the mountain and all along the way my tea stays nice and toasty.

The only con that I have is that if the thermos is filled a little too full when the lid is placed on it the liquid makes its way up into the cavity of the lid where the lid screws on and tends to leak until all of that excess liquid is gone. A little messy but well worth the hassle. Just don't fill it too high.

Customer Review: Excellent - Thermos Nissan 16 Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack Bottle
Summary: 5 Stars

This is my second Thermos Nissan 16 Ounce Stainless Steel Backpack Bottle. I liked the first one so much I got a second. I have a 16-ounce Zojirushi regular (not intended to serve as a mug) bottle and it cannot keep coffee hot anywhere near as long as these Thermos Nissan bottles do. I use the new one as my office water bottle; it is a vast improvement over the plastic water bottle I had been using. Some leak-proof bottles require two hands to operate, but this top is spring-loaded and operates very easily with only one hand. I have never had a leak with either one.

Customer Review: Excellent Purchase Decision, I Rule
Summary: 5 Stars

I have a 1 hour commute about an hour North of Manhattan and this thing never leaks, keeps my coffee scalding hot for about 6 hours, and has been the best purchase decision I've made in the past couple of months. I researched travel coffee containers incessantly and came to this conclusion. Most containers claim they're "leak resistant" or cut corners w/cheap foam insulation. This thing has a flip top lid that does not leak and is vacuum insulated (air does not conduct heat or cold) to keep your beverages cold or hot. I fill it up and literally put it inside my bag sideways and have 0 worries about leaks. It does not condense w/cold liquids and is cool to the touch w/hot coffee inside. Cold liquids stay cold for about 4 hours in the summer. This is the best option I've found by far and I researched all of the high end brands.
