I love this handy tuna, fruit and veggie can plastic strainer. It's a much safer and more efficient way to drain or press out liquids, rather than pushing down on some flimsy, non-permeable can lid. A show of hands, please. Who hasn't cut themselves while removing a sharp-edged metal lid from a can's innards, had fishy water squirt up onto a favorite shirt, or watched sliced green beans, peaches or tuna pieces spurt out into the sink? I thought so.
There are other small kitchen can presses and strainers, but I've found that this product's flat, fitted and porous, even-holed design; fingertip handle; detachable outer ring (for use with wider-mouthed cans and jars); and attractive bright color make it the most effective one. It's safe, easy to use and even easier to (keep) clean.
Hint: Although it is hard plastic, hand washing is advised.
Almost every person who has seen me use this gadget wants one, so I've bought several from Amazon for gift-giving. As I observed in the title to this review: You never think you need one until you use it. Then, you wonder how you ever managed without it.
