Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Nostalgia HDT-600 Hot-Dog/Pop-up Toaster

Customer Review: Hot Dog Toaster
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this for my husband as a gift from Santa - he loves hot dogs so I thought this would be great! I, myself, like toasted buns so I thought it would be great as well. I also bought him 5 packages of Ball Park Franks...they don't fit after toasting because they plump when they cook. The toasted buns aren't evenly toasted either. We purchased Oscar Meyer hot dogs and that seemed to do the trick! I give it a rating of 3 out of 5 stars.

Customer Review: Hot dog and bun cooker.
Summary: 5 Stars

It's fantastic. I like my dogs slightly burnt. They came out perfect. You do have to watch the buns. Wait a few seconds before you put them in so they won't get burned. You can always warm the buns after cooking the hot dogs.

Customer Review: Hot dog maker
Summary: 3 Stars

I bought this for my son who is going to be 10. Now he loves it thinks its the coolest thing in the world. But I have to say I am slightly disapointed The buns get very crispy and the hot dogs tend to be luke warm at best with the tip of it more on the cool side. We have found that putting the hot dogs in at the higher setting works best but dont put the buns in. But the 3rd setting is good if you dont want crispy buns. So basicly He uses the hot dog part and we dont use the bun part. Over all its ok. Great for someone my son's age who wants to feel more independant. For someone older of college level for dorms not recomended they could use a microwave.

Customer Review: Hot hot diggity dogger
Summary: 5 Stars

Excellent item, makes great hot dogs and was shipped very quickly and packaged well. Great purchase.

Customer Review: How well does it make hot dogs?
Summary: 4 Stars

First off, I'll point out the cons. The hot dog holder could be a pinch wider. Having to have the hot dogs are room temperature to cook properly does not make sense.

However, these are not big problems. I have found that Nathan's hot dogs do not get stuck and also tasted the best out of all of the hot dogs I have tried. Also, it's not a major inconvenience to push the lever down again to get the hot dog fully cooked.

The bottom line is I would recommend this product to any hot dog lover. There is no easier way to get hot dogs cooked this delicious this quickly.
