Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Talisman Designs Butter Boy, GreenCustomer Review: Functional solution, but takes a little muscle... Summary: 4 Stars
No problems here with fit of 1/2 stick of butter. No mess. But it takes some force to advance the plastic plate within the Butter Boy in order to have more butter available. We keep ours in the fridge and it takes us 15+ uses to consume the 1/2 stick.
Customer Review: How do you get the cube of butter in?????? Summary: 3 Stars
The Butter Boy is a marvelous concept. It is so EASY to spread the butter on the ear of corn. You can keep it in your fridge to pull out at a moments notice. BUT, would it not have been MORE marvelous to make the butter well the same size as a cube of butter? It is a major pain to cut down the cube ("a little more off here, now just a little more off there") to get it to fit.
Customer Review: Making butterin' easy and clean Summary: 5 Stars
The heat of the corn always makes the butter fall off your knife as you try to slather it on. That sucks. The Butter Boy eliminates that problem. A partial stick of butter gets stuffed up the Butter Boy's bottom. See that grin on the Butter Boy's face? That's the same look on your face when your corn is completely buttered and your hands are clean. Get a set of the Zyliss corn holders (5 stars) and you're set for the season!
Customer Review: More than fun--it has saved butter! Summary: 5 Stars
We purchased 4 of these to give as gifts. They are not only fun to use but we have found they really save on butter--the butter all goes on the corn instead of all over the plate! Very pleased with purchases! Also, pleasantly surprised that we got one free! Great transaction!
Customer Review: My kitchen buddy Summary: 5 Stars
This little green guy is the champ of all butter holders. My girlfriend calls it the 'Butter Pimp'. Lol. Its mess free and dishwash safe, a huge plus. If you want a square of butter for your roll or cornbread, just simply press the amount you prefer then take a butter knife or dinner knife and guide the knife along the curved surface of the butter boy top. It cuts a perfect square for those hot rolls. You go Butter Boy!
