I had wanted to buy one of these garlic roasters for some time however, I had to wait until my husband and I were holidaying in Honolulu before I located the Tago Roastered Garlic Express. My husband didn't think we would use it very much; however, I still went ahead and purchased it.
Upon arriving home in Australia, I discovered that my garlic roaster wouldn't work (even with my step-down electrical transformer). I emailed Tagco and explained the problem to them. They replied straight away and immediately shipped me a replacement garlic roaster. It is not often that a Company impresses me but Tagco were wonderful.
When my new garlic roaster arrived it worked perfectly. And surprise, surprise, my husband thought that the garlic I roasted for him was the best he had ever tasted. I believe I will use the garlic roaster quite often as it's easy to operate, the roasting time is quick and the flavour of the garlic is fantastic. A big bonus is that the garlic roaster doesn't take long to clean.
Overall, a great little kitchen gadget from an extremely helpful Company.

If you have been hesitating to buy this garlic roaster (as I had been) then hesitate no more! If you are a garlic lover--for its health and/or taste properties, but can't stomach the raw stuff, then I cannot recommend this highly enough! This garlic roaster is the lazy cook's dream. Just cut off the tops of the garlic, pop it in the roaster, pour a touch of olive oil over it, press a button, and 27 minutes later, while you are cooking or catching up on your e-mail or whatever, you have up to 3 mouth-watering bulbs of garlic at your fingertips. I also roast peppers and onions in it, and, while the consistency might be a bit mushy for those who are into "al dente," it is perfect for me. I was going to say something clever about vampyres and garlic, but all you true-blue and wanna-be vampyres out there know that garlic is as ineffective in doing away with you as a wooden stake or a silver bullet, so whether you are a bloodsucker or just an ordinary mortal: BUY IT--YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

I absolutely love this little gadget, and use it often. I make garlic mashed potatoes. This is a must for garlic lovers. It takes up very little counter space and works well. It's great to have roasted garlic in under 25 minutes, without having to turn on the big oven. I suggest that you roast the large cloves through 2 cycles if you want a nice garlic aroma and well roasted garlic.

I originally bought the Roasted Garlic Express in Brown/Terracotta to give as a gift. But once it arrived, I became rather attached to it and ended up keeping it for myself! If you love the taste and smell of fresh-roasted garlic, but hate the inconvenience and expense of heating the oven for hours, then this is the kitchen gadget for you! Just cut the tops off of a few cloves of garlic and place them cut-side down in a few tablespoons of olive oil in the removable roasting pan. Moisten the terracotta ring, plug in the roasted garlic express, close the lid, push the start button, and forget about it for the next 27 minutes. When the little light goes out, your garlic is done. It couldn't be easier!
Pros:
* Easy and convenient to use
* Much faster and more economical than a conventional oven
* Low profile- doesn't take up much counter space, easy to store
* Roasting cup is removable and washable
* Interior is non-stick, simple to wipe clean- no mess!
* Can be used for other applications. I melt brie in mine!
Cons:
* Clip-on handle sometimes gets into the oil (I like to use extra oil for dipping)
* Large cloves of garlic sometimes need an extra cycle to be fully mushy
I like to add fresh herbs to my garlic while it's roasting- what a treat on crusty french bread! If you like your cloves crispy, squeeze them out of the shell and let them cook without the skins- they will "fry" in the olive oil and become crunchy. I have used this little roaster several times a week since I bought it. I wouldn't hesitate to repurchase, give as a gift, or recommend to a friend.
