Customer Review: Does not work on the side teeth

Our dog doesn't enjoy having her teeth brushed, so we wanted something that we can load with a healthy treats, and is chewed like pig's ears and rawhide. I was hoping that this toy would encourage the dog to use her side teeth in a shearing action to keep them as beautiful as her front teeth. No such luck, so we are still searching for something that will engage the side teeth while she is enjoying herself. I know that these "rubber" Kong type toys will keep teeth and gums in good condition because using her Goodie Bone keeps our dog's front teeth very white and clean and her gums are in great shape. This football toy got three stars because it was entertaining, it makes dogs use their mind, front paws, front teeth and tongue, but there are much better designs out there. This toy is hard to load with any thing other than a jell or strips of meat; therefore, it can be very messy. If you take the rope out you have only a long smooth hole, nothing to hold a treat in place, or anything on the ends that seems like it would benefit the teeth or gums. It is dishwasher safe, with and without the rope.
Our pup highly recommends the Kong Goodie Bone with Desiccated Liver Treats instead of this Football thingy.
