Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Moving Men 1545-12 8-Piece Furniture Slider SetCustomer Review: Does nothing, waste of money Summary: 1 Stars
Does not work well. It's just a plastic saucer with some foam stuck on top. And the plastic is just plain ordinary plastic. Do not waste your money. You can get comparable results just slipping on some old plastic plates or cut out milk jug instead of buying this. Waste of money.
Customer Review: Does what it should do - if you have realistic expectations Summary: 5 Stars
I try to review products based on: (1) Value for the price; (2) Performance or quality related to expectations; (3) Experience with the product.
Using that criteria, these sliders are an easy 5 star rating. First, consider the price. Some of the negative reviews complain as though they have been robbed of valuable income for a bad product.... people... they cost about $7.
I was easily able to slide a sofa around a large carpeted room (with turns and adjustments along the way) by myself, with no problem. That is precisely why I ordered these sliders. They cannot repeal the laws of physics - but they greatly reduce friction and make it possible to move heavy or bulky furniture without injuring yourself. Heavier items might require two people - but there is still no lifting required, and that is the value of these (and similar) furniture sliders.
I have not tried them on a hard surface. Before I used them on hardwood I would be very cautious to ensure that the floor was completely free of ANY dirt and the slider surface was super-clean. Even then, there may be micro scratches created by the drag and friction - again, the laws of physics have not been repealled. If I did have to move a heavy item across a wood floor with these, I would probably try to find an area rug to lay down first...
In my opinion they work great. They stay put under the furniture legs, make furniture easy to slide (especially on carpet), and are very inexpensive.
Customer Review: Don't Buy for Wood Floors Summary: 1 Stars
I should have read reviews prior to buying this product -- upon receipt realized you can only use them for carpeted floors or non-scratch surfaces like linoleum. I'll return this item.
Customer Review: Don't use on hardwood floors Summary: 3 Stars
I used the furniture sliders to move a 75 gallon fish tank on a stand 3/4 empty. I was getting the carpet removed and the hardwood floor resurfaced.
The sliders worked fine moving the tank with the carpet down. Moving the tank back on hardwood floors was impossible.
Customer Review: Don't waste your money on "As Seen On TV" products! Summary: 5 Stars
The first time I needed these they failed on me. They are made of the thinnest, cheapest plastic imaginable. I am convinced now, and should have been BEFORE I bought these, that stuff sold only on TV is done so for a reason. It's because it is next to impossible to return anything. If the stuff was a wonderful as they claim on infomercials, it would be in retail stores in a heartbeat. Go to your local hardware store instead and buy slightly more expensive sliders. They will have different ones to suit your needs.
