Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Breadmaker, WhiteCustomer Review: Awesome bread maker! Summary: 5 Stars
This morning I made my first bread recipe ever! This is an awesome machine, very easy instructions, pay attention to the details of what ingredients are put in first, etc. My first bread which was a Light Oat Bread recipe from allrecipes.com website turned out perfectly. My oldest son and I devoured half of the bread before it had a chance to cool! I did note that the first knead cycle, the dough was sticking and I wasn't sure what to do. So during the first rise time, it didn't rise. I knew that I had another year before the yeast would expire. So I read an important note that someone here put down as well, that during the second kneading cycle, to check the dough, I did that and saw that it was sticky so I added more tablespoons of flour, one at a time, probably needed about 6-7 of them to get the dough properly. The second rise time, it finally rose up properly. This is not a walk away thing, you do have to pay attention at least during the last kneading cycle to make sure your dough is perfect otherwise your bread will be ruined. This is my favorite bread maker and hope it will last me a long time! :)
Customer Review: Awesome cheap breadmaker Summary: 5 Stars
I purchased this for my wife for Christmas after she said she wanted a breadmaker for a couple of years. We never got one because
1. We don't really eat bread.
2. They were expensive and I didn't want to wind up with a $200 loaf of bread and something taking up space.
We've made bread weekly since then so we're on about 12 or so (one is going right now). It produces a great loaf of bread that really has homemade a quality to it. We started with one of the recipes in that come with it, but most internet recipes work out ok. We've tossed flax and sunflower seeds and all sorts of stuff in there. It's done everything fine. We're now working out our ratios on a 85% whole honey wheat bread that will be our norm. We still don't eat much bread, but knowing what is in it and that it has a low sugar content makes it a lot better. The loaves also stay fine for the little over a week it takes us to eat them.
I highly recommend it, especially for the value (quality/price).
Customer Review: Awesome product - Definitely get a good recipe book Summary: 5 Stars
I just bought this bread maker for my sister. I made bread each day for 4 days and also made fresh blueberry jam. This product seems to work very well. It is a bit noisy and beeps after every kneed cycle. Other than that there is nothing negative I can write about this machine. Definitely get a good recipe book. I followed the previous reviewer's advice and bought myself one. If you follow the recipe word to word - you will get flawless results. It is good to know that now you can eat freshly baked bread which is healthy along with jam which tastes like fruit and not like sugar.
I definitely recommend this product to anyone who likes to eat healthy.

Customer Review: Bad purchase Summary: 1 Stars
This was the only bread machine I found available locally so I purchased it. It made so much noise while it was kneeding that it would wake the dead. I tried adding more water but it still clunked and then the bread top fell and the bread was dense and crusty. On the third load, the LED stuck in the "jam" position. I returned it to the store for a refund.
