Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Breadmaker, White

Customer Review: A Great Breadmaker!
Summary: 5 Stars

I just wanted to add my comments about what a neat breadmaker this is. My son and I have been experimenting and making all kinds of bread with this machine. It is so versatile. The only comment I have is a small one. The recipes in the book do not get the liquid right. I've had to add 1/4 to 1/3 cup extra water to each recipe-but once I did so wow! I can make whole grain breads with no chemicals or preservatives. It's fun and easy~

Customer Review: A Great Machine at an Excellent Price
Summary: 5 Stars

Love this machine! This is the third bread machine I have owned and works as well as machines that cost much more. I have had excellent results with whole wheat, Italian bread, and an orange oatmeal bread. Following the advice of other reviewers, I did not use the recipes that came with the machine. I recomment Donna German's series of bread machine cookbooks which are easy and fun to use. In California's dry climate I find that I need to add 1/4 to 1/3 cup more liquid.

Customer Review: A REIEW OF MY BREADMAKER PURCHASE..
Summary: 5 Stars

I WAS VERY PLEASED WITH MY SUNBEAM PROGRAMMABLE BREADMAKER. I MADE THREE LOAVES OF BREAD THE DAY IT ARRIVED AND THEY WERE DELICIOUS. I AM 85 YEARS OLD AND FOUND THAT USING THE MACHINE WAS VERY EASY, THAT AND THE FAIR PURCHASE PRICE MADE IT AN ENJOYABLE EXPERIENCE. THE ART OF MAKING "HOMEMADE" BREAD HAS BECOME SO SIMPLE THAT ANYONE CAN DO IT. THANKS FOR A GREAT PRODUCT.

Customer Review: A fairly good product
Summary: 4 Stars

I bought this a month ago. I have tried to make couple breads. I like it very much for the price I paid. The plain breads with 1.5 pound is the best. Very easy, just need to following the recipe, and it makes very good bread. I tried couple of the 2.0 pounds, not as good. I think the issue with the 2.0 pounds are that the baking time is too long, so that the skin of the bread is a lot thicker and harder than the 1.5 pound. I have also tried to use it to make bread dough only, and baked in the conventional oven, the result is also good. I've tried to make raison bread, not very successful, the raison were prompted to add too early, and in the end, the raison were all mashed. Overall, I like it, very simple, very easy to use, make fairly good simple breads.

Customer Review: A good sturdy breadmaker
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this breadmaker for 3 years. I changed the bin once. It is still working strong, even though I bake at least two to three loaves a week. I also make pizza dough with it. Frankly for the price I never thought it would last this long. My only gripe with it is the bin's teflon lining which is very thin and scratches easily. Now, if they made a sturdier bin it would be the perfect breadmaker: easy to use, does not take much counter space, cleans easily, lasts, and is cheap to buy.
