This is a great air cleaner. NO fan, silent except for some quiet 'fizzing' noise every now and then as dust or smoke go into the unit. The removable collection plates are all attached together and come out easily for cleaning. Just take damp paper towel or rag and wipe off, then reinsert. Could not be easier. These units really suck in the dirt. You will be surprised all that stuff was in the air once you clean it the first time. Be prepared for a black sooty towel after you clean it... that is why I use paper towels. A cleaning light will come on when it needs cleaning... so no worries. Breath easier.
