Very nice slim elegant design. No need of batteries ;-) Panel can be changed for pound or kilogramm, 9 pound or 4kg max. The measurement is acceptable acurate, not perfect but enough for kitchen needs.
Description of Salter Multiweigh Mechanical Scale with 2-Liter Mixing Bowl, Weighs to 9-Pound
Salter scales with a tradition of excellence for the past 250-year. Full featured kitchen scales for the home chef and everyday cook or baker. Innovative designs, all with a touch of class and innovation. An English tradition since 1760. Includes large, 2 liter dishwasher safe weighing bowl. Add and weigh feature with rotating dial for quick reset. Bowl inverts over scale for neat, dust free storage. Wide platform allows use with other bowls. 9-pound capacity by 1-ounce also reads in kg/g.This unusual scale features a large, round dial that forms an outer ring around the weighing surface. When an ingredient such as flour is added to the clear plastic weighing bowl, the dial can be turned back to 0 and more ingredients added, a boon for recipes that give weights instead of volumes. When full, the bowl holds approximately two quarts or liters; when empty, it inverts to fit snugly over the scale and protect it from dust. Any bowl may be used on the scale's wide platform.
Handy for larger amounts, this scale weighs up to nine pounds (four kg) in one-ounce (25-g) increments. Because it is mechanical, no batteries are required. The MultiWeigh scale measures approximately 8-1/2 by 5 inches, and is covered by a 10-year warranty against defects. --Ann Bieri
