Initially when we installed the Lixit it appeared to be leaking but we soon realized that it was the faucet that was the problem. My husband ran down to the hardware store and picked up a new faucet, installed it in 15 minutes, problem solved (and he's not the handy type). We haven't seen an unsolicited drip since. We also got one of these "Y" splitters Gilmour 13 Brass 2-Way Connector so we can use the hose on the same faucet which is handy. Our 12 week old puppy learned to use the Lixit immediately, no peanut butter needed. We demonstrated it for the pup a couple times and he picked it up right away. I would also suggest you remind him it's there for the first couple weeks.
We are very happy... no more filling up water bowls. Highly recommend.

I installed 3 of the 4 units - 1 inside each kennel and 1 on the outside. The 4th unit is a spare. It is very important that you keep these in the shade or they will get too hot and could injure a dog. Very good product.Customer Review: Good waterer for dogs/cats

I have owned Two of these I lost one, both never leaked and work very well for givng the dog water, I frequetly check it but it is alway fine, work great whn you go on vacation if you have someone check it for you and they dont have to fill bowls, the dog can get water any time it needs.Customer Review: Great Product !!

I bought (2) of these. One for our own dog, and one for my daughter's puppy. Both dogs are using the Lixits without any problems. The peanut butter on the spout trick, get's them using it in no time ! Result: No more pans of water sitting around for bugs and dirt. Fresh water for your pet every time ! One less thing to do !! AND, as another user suggested, do not put this spout in the hot sun. Find a shady water spigot !!!!
