Customer Review: Difficult to clean...

This product does what it's supposed to do well, but I have 2 reservations about it:

1) It is only a "double" pie iron if you are using Wonderbread. No other standard slice of bread will fit into this side by side.

2) The advertising for Rome on the outside of the pie iron makes cleaning and maintaining a rust-free pie iron very difficult. Rust forms very quickly between the raised letters on the surface of the exterior and it's very difficult to scour out. It's also difficult to get oil between the letters to prevent more rust from forming once you've managed to get the old rust out. A smooth outer surface would have been much easier to deal with.
