The outer housing, the bamboo part is actually pretty nice. The inner liner is plastic and the little fold down handle broke in a short time. Over all it's an over priced but acceptable product. I probably wouldn't spend the considerable price again but would instead find something cheaper yet just as servicable.Customer Review: Broken Lid

While this is a very "clean" looking compost pail, I have to say that the lid is pretty faulty. The plastic ring that holds the filters in place no longer sticks to the lid. Each time I lift the lid, the ring sticks to the pail and the filters fall right out. I emailed RSVP International about this problem. Pretty soon I will probably look into buying a new compost pail - one that is more durable than this.Customer Review: Don't buy this!

I was given as one of these as a gift. It lasted about a year and a half before the bottom fell out. I had the filters and decided to try the same one again hoping for better luck. That was a mistake! It took only a couple of weeks for it to split in half. Was told I couldn't send it back, so I took a loss on it. What a waste of money.Customer Review: Great compost pail

I've owned this pail for 2 months now and still love it. It's large enough for our family of two people who love to cook that we only fill it up 2-3 times per week. A dishwasher-safe, removable insert makes taking out the compost easy. The replaceable charcoal filter in the lid keeps all the odors down - I have never smelled anything coming from the pail, even the couple times where we've left it too long and it does smell with the lid off! Looks great on the counter and has a small enough footprint that it's easy to keep anywhere.Customer Review: Great design and look, but one flaw

I love that this is bamboo, is big enough, but not monstrous on the counter, and looks nice enough to keep out. I like the pail inside so it is easy to bring the compost to the bin and wash. Only complaint I have is that from the moment we opened it and put a filter inside (exactly as instructed by the manual), the filter cover did not stay in attached well to the top, so often when we open the bin, the filter and filter cover fall out, which is a bit annoying. Upon closer examination, that attachment point should be better made in the future - a turn mechanism rather than a straight pop in mechanism would be better. But we like it and we're keeping it.
