I bought this mug at Christmas time for myself. It worked fairly well for about two months and then died. Did not heat at all. Not in my car or at work with the USB port. Maybe it was my fault, I did not always remember to unplug it from the car before I turned off my car...but..it should be shielded from any power flucuations generated from turning my car off.
