Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Video Catnip -- DVD

Customer Review: A Pleasure!
Summary: 5 Stars

So, I didn't buy this from Amazon...
But when I did get it, my cats (3 kittens - 2 under a year and 1 about a year old) absolutely fell in love with it.
They were mesmerized throughout!
If you are thinking that this will be a waste, it isn't.
This is definitely a wonderful treat for the kitties.

Customer Review: A matter of choice, Audio needs work
Summary: 3 Stars

I have two cats; an active adult male siamese and a 13 week old female. Scooter, the older, could care less and watched the video only when I held him. Sasha, the kitten, loved it and almost fell off the cat tree pawing the birds.

Sasha can't get enough of it. She runs when she hears the tv click on.
Good for some cats, but not all. I suspect it is the low sound level. The younger cat may have keener hearing than the older. I could barely hear it and it disappeared half way through the disk. Turning up volume only increased static. Video is a 5+. Audio a 3. Now if they only had scratch and sniff ...

Customer Review: Adequate
Summary: 3 Stars

The cats watched part of it. They like the bird sequences, but would prefer a bigger flock. They lose interest watching the little rodents. The DVD is a bit amateur-ish with the background noise and the lack of imagination, but the cats are somewhat entertained by it.

Customer Review: Cats love it.
Summary: 5 Stars

My cat loves this DVD, just don't use with a flat panel unless it's behind glass as your cat may attack the screen.

Customer Review: Doesn't do much for my cat.
Summary: 3 Stars

I have had this DVD for about a week. The first time I played it my cat ignored it. The second time I adjusted the volume to VERY loud -she may be partly deaf like her owner - and then it caught my cat's attention. She's Persian and VERY indoor. She tried to get at the birds but after a few minutes gave up and took a nap. Each time I play it, it will catch her attention - from a distance - but she doesn't attempt to attack the animals any more. The longest time she watches is about 15 mins.
I'm wondering about the psychological effects on cats from their constantly being frustrated. Anyone have any ideas on that?
