I purchased my first peppermate mill, in 1983. It as a very expensive $25.00 back then, but I treated myself as part of an extensive kitchen renovation. Well, this little mill has been a powerhouse in my kitchen BUT, I have to finally replace it!! It has fallen on the floor too many times to save it, and in doing so I will break down and buy the black one. I have a beige one, which they no longer make. Goodbye old beige peppermate..hello new Black one. I hope this one lasts 24 years also!!

Description of Pepper Mill - Black

Designed for efficient kitchen operation and elegant tabletop use, this all-purpose mill has a ceramic grinding mechanism and can be used with all spices, including pepper, salt, and nutmeg. An adjustable ceramic grinding mechanism controls the size of the grind from fine to super coarse; the adjustment does not change during use or when refilling the mill. The clear, removable base may be used to hold the freshly ground spices, making it ideal for measuring precise amounts for recipes. A large opening makes it easy to refill the mill with whole spices, peppercorns, or coarse salt.
