Customer Review: Nothing works better...not that I've found anyway

My 60+ lb lab mix recently started having seizures which results in the loss of control of her bowels and bladder. During the day she won't even attempt to climb on the couch--but apparently at night it's a different story.
One night I awoke to find that she had had a seizure on our sofa, and had urinated and defecated on one of our recliners. I did my best to clean it up but the odor persisted--and it was so bad, I couldn't stand to sit anywhere near that recliner anymore, let alone on it.
While walking through the grocery store a few days later, (read: everything was completely dry and I had very little hope of being able to relax in that recliner again,) I saw Kids 'n' Pets. It had in big, bold letters a claim that said "Removes urine odors FOREVER!" At half the price of the things they sell in pet stores (which do NOT work, based on my own experience having house-trained her,) I decided to give it a try. Couldn't hurt, right? Nothing could be worse than the foul odor left behind.
In short, I was amazed.
I squirted half of a 32 oz bottle onto the recliner. It has a big, thick foam cushion on it so I expected it to take awhile to dry. I placed towels over it after it had soaked in a bit and waited. A day later, my husband commented, "This smell is never going away, is it?" I said, "What smell? What does it smell like?" He said "...I don't know...." Beforehand it would have been a definite "Pee!" After Kids 'n' Pets had completely dried no one could ever tell there had been an accident there. It leaves a fresh...cherry scent? (That's what my daughter says anyway.) I was shocked--as was my husband. He couldn't believe that the odor had completely disappeared.
To those who think that this product doesn't work--USE MORE. If the "accident" is 4" across, SATURATE a circular area that's about a foot wide in any direction. Foam, carpet padding, cotton, and basically ANY material that has any kind of absorbency qualities will spread the moisture and smell a long, LONG way. If you think about dipping a corner of a paper towel in water and watching how far up the towel the water travels, you might get an idea as to the absorption qualities you're dealing with.
Since that first experience with Kids 'n' Pets, unfortunately, my dog has had several more seizures--during which she has lost control of her bodily functions every time. My ONLY complaint with this product is that it doesn't come in, like, barrel-, or SUV-fuel-tank-size bottles. This stuff works. Overall, it works MUCH better and is much, MUCH less expensive than carpet-cleaning companies or the crap pet stores try to sell you.
Having said all of that, I have to say that I've done the math and my local grocery store is cheaper when you factor in shipping and handling. Shop around and figure it out. It's worth it, imho.

Kids'n'Pets is a very effective stain remover. It works on all the stains I used it for. Example of stains that totally disappeared after pretreating with the product are: school art paint, ring around the collar, make-up on my pillow case, food stains on clothes, etc. It has never ruined any clothes. Just use a small nail brush and rub the product into the stain before laundering. It also works very well on carpets to remove urine and poop stains and odors.
I cannot believe why grocery stores do not carry it. It is the best stain remover ever.

The only problem we had with this cleaner is the bottle. We didn't like that you have to just pour it out, so my boyfriend and I decided to try it in a spray bottle. It worked great! It also has a very light fragrance, so it won't leave an unpleasant smell. We had a problem getting out a few older stains, but using my Bissell Little Green Steam Cleaner, we got rid of all of them! :)Customer Review: Safe and Green CLeaner that works Wonders

I love this stuff! I have an older cat who started urinating outside of the litterbox. We came to find out that she was diabetic and until we had her insulin adjusted this stuff was a God send. Everytime I would find a spot where she relieved herself I would panic. Now with this, I no longer need to panic. It worked wonders. There is absolutely no oder left behind and now that she's back to normal, we have no remaining reminders of when she was ill.
