In the interest of countertops I'd just refinished, I purchased a number of cutting boards, including the BonVie 4-in 1,to protect the new surfaces. Both my son and I were impressed with the features and handiness of the board. We particularly liked the storage for the Ulu and grater---the convenience of having everything at your fingertips. When #2 son came home for the holidays, there was some discussion as to which of them would make off with the board first when they landed places of their own! Needless to say, by the time #3 son came home, I'd decided, if I had any intentions of holding on to my 'find,' I'd need back-up! I have since purchased an additional three boards---one for each son, respectively. I do have one recommendation regarding the boards, however. It was suggested the boards be oiled prior to first use to season and protect the wood. Mineral oil, or other suitable oil commonly sold in kitchen stores should do the trick. Having some firsthand experience with wood's natural tendancy to dry out and living in a somewhat dry climate, I highly recommend this suggestion, as well as advice not to allow boards to 'soak' when cleaning them. 'Damp mopping' followed by a quick rub of lemon, if necessary, to remove any residual odor should be sufficient!

As Seen on TV, the BonVie 4-in-1 is an elegant 2-tone bamboo cutting board, designed with integrated tools and two sides for different purposes. It has a flat side for conventional cutting and serving. The other side is scalloped out for mincing and dicing. What appear to be handles at each end of the serving board are actually tools that pop and pull out. Its perfect for mincing those fresh herbs for all those gourmet recipes. More effective than a wheel to cut pizza, the Ulu can also slice meats, cheese, vegetables. The grater can be placed on the concave side of the board or used right over your skillet or salad dish. The beauty of this 4-in-1 Combination Board is that the components are ingeniously integrated together. This is such an amazing value because if you were to go out and buy each of these components separatelythe heavy duty 2 color bamboo cutting board, the Ulu chopper knife, and the stainless grater, you would pay more than twice as much. The BonVie has 4 times the functionality of the awarding-winning Calphalon Mezzaluna, while costing 40% less. You will get many compliments because of the products classy appearance and its ingenious but functional simplicity. No trees were cut to make the product.
