Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of World Cuisine 48297-99 Tri-Blade Plastic Spiral Vegetable Slicer

Customer Review: Easy and fun!
Summary: 5 Stars

A great way to play with your food! This slicer makes the longest, most fascinating spirals you could desire. Everyone wants to have a turn. Zucchini spirals make an excellent pasta substitute, whether cooked or raw. Amazement, giggles and infectious laughter are the by-products of using it!

Customer Review: Easy to use and clean, works well
Summary: 4 Stars

I use this to make zucchini pasta and it works very well. I tried the saladacco and hated it - it took more muscle and the blades were hard to assemble. This slicer is easy and quick to use and clean.

It comes with three different blade assemblies that slide into the vertical slot. They store in slots under the machine. The blade assemblies make it simple to switch blades, you never touch a blade, just slip the assembly into place. With the Benriner slicers, you need to unscrew/screw in the bare blade you want to use, which is a little more complicated and risky. The Benriner and Saladaccos are also harder to clean.

My one complaint is that after about 2 years the little rubber feet hardened and are useless, so there's no more suction to keep it in place. I solve this by propping one end under the counter for leverage, but it's a little awkward. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 because the feet wore out.

Customer Review: Excellent - Especially for fries
Summary: 5 Stars

My daughter and I love to make frech fries at my house using my deep fryer. We started to get tired of cutting them and she really wanted to make curly fries and ribbon fries. We tried this and it worked excellent. The suction cups work well. Even though the entire thing is plastic it seems very firm. The blades are a little difficult to change but the fact that the two extra ones store underneath is nice. The crack works well, my daughter can use it easily. Since we really only use it for potatoes the fact that there is a 3/8" core left is no big deal. We just chop it up and fry it too. I would definitely recommend buying this unless you plan to use it on very small foods like carrots.

Customer Review: Excellent raw pasta maker!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is so easy to use. It makes diffrent cuts of veggies too. My favorite part is being able to make the pasta which is made from just placing a zucchinni or cucumber in the attatchment & spiralzing it into pasta. It really looks like pasta too...healthy & good for you! I haven't used all the attachment cutting blades yet but am sure they will do great as well! Excellent product!

Customer Review: Exceptional
Summary: 5 Stars

My husband and I really enjoy this product, we are preparing raw spaghettis (zuchini, squash, jicama) with a special sauce and it is delicious, try it. You'll love it,is healthy too. Our daughter bought one before, gave us some of the raw food she prepared, we liked it so much we bought our own, really recommend it for people that are into raw food and want to try something diferent.
