So far this blender has worked great. I have quickly and relatively quietly blended frozen whole strawberries and bananas with water to make smoothies. I made mixed vegetable soups with it. I did notice a small cut on the outside glass upon unpacking it; but it does not go through all the way. It is at the base; so I expect I may have to replace the glass pitcher if it cracks through and leaks. The blender is fine otherwise. It might be a manufacture defect. I expected the blender to be much noiser like my Burr Coffee bean grinder; but it is not that loud. The pitcher is easy to use. I like the button choices for the different blending types of action from automatic iced drinks, to crushing ice, to others. It feels solid.
Description of Oster Counterforms Stainless Blender
The Counterforms 2-In-1 Appliance with Oster Fusion Technology handles the functions of two machines. It mixes liquids like a blender while also performing many common food-processor tasks, such as chopping and pureeing fruits and vegetables.
Both units consist of a sturdy base containing a 600-watt motor, a stainless-steel 6-point Star Blade, a large 48-ounce (6-cup) glass blending jar, and a lid with food chute. When fully assembled, it stands 15-1/2-inches tall and has a 7x9-inch oval footprint. The front control panel contains nine push-button switches that provide a full range of blending and processing options. Two preprogrammed settings (Frozen Drink and Food Chop) run specially timed cycles. The remaining buttons (On/Off, Low, Medium, High, Low Pulse and High Pulse) offer more traditional blending options, and a Stop button performs as you might expect.
