I have an older Oster 10 speed that looks like this one but it runs much quieter. I bought this one because the plastic blender jar was cracking pretty bad on my old one. So now I use the glass jar on my old base and it works fine. Also, you may wish to look closely at the buttons on this black model - they are very green!Customer Review: I LOVE this blender

I purchased the blender after reading reviews here on Amazon... which are always very helpful. I did purchase it with some doubt.. as hey ya never know :)
But it lived up to the comments.
It chopped ice fabulously.. no chunks what so ever. And the glass pitcher is far better than a plastic one. Easy to clean and very happy with the unit. I use it every day to make protein shakes.
