Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Slap ChopCustomer Review: Frequent Amazon.com purchaser Summary: 1 Stars
The Slap Chop is not of the same good quality as the stainless steel choppers. No comparison. I gave my Slap Chop away and purchased a stainless one.
Customer Review: Functional... Summary: 3 Stars
I bought the Slap Chop for my dad's birthday, when we first opened the package of course we were hesitant because it's an infomercial product. However, it works just like the commercials and is almost as easy to clean as it says it is. NOT DISHWASHER SAFE! (That's why it's not easy) The Grady is free for a reason... if you are using soft cheeses you might as well be using a regular grater, it's almost harder to use the Grady. My dad does use this a lot and it has been working great for making marinades and salsas and things like that. Good product, could be better.
Customer Review: Give it the heave ho Summary: 1 Stars
Please don't waste your money on this product! It pains me to say this because my darling but impressionable son bought me this As-Seen-On-TV product thinking I would like it. Because that Vince is just such a funny guy, you know!?!
This thing has a million pieces, one of which -- the plastic insert that's supposed to keep food from getting stuck in the blades -- broke on the first use. By the time you put it all together, cut up the food in small enough pieces to fit in the little bowl, chop the food, dismantle the chopper, dig the food from out of the blades, and wash the dang thing, you could have gotten the same result in half the time with a knife and a cutting board.
For the same amount of money, you can attend a knife skills cooking class at your local Whole Foods store and be far better off. I'll have to use this once in a while to put a smile on my son's face, but otherwise, I'd heave it over my shoulder a-la-Vince into the trash.
Customer Review: Going straight to Goodwill! Summary: 1 Stars
Every vegetable I've tried gets stuck in the blades. It's absolutely worthless and ends up taking more time to pry your vegetables out than it would have to just cut it with a knife. Do not buy this!
Customer Review: Good product Summary: 4 Stars
The guy from the TV commercials was right. Slap Chop really works. My life is more easy now. The product is helpful for cutting onions, peppers, ham, tomatoes, among other foods.
