I really resent it when a company sells their product in stores (in this case, Target), and the sign clearly says, "As shown on TV," but doesn't tell you this is an outdated model -- not the one currently showing on TV.
The product has many flaws that make it so unsafe, I'm amazed they're allowed to manufacture it. First of all, there's no shut-off button, so you have to pull out the plug every time you're done. It's been fixed in the later model, so that was a disappointment. And there's no automatic shut-off, in case you've pulled out the wrong plug by mistake.
Secondly, the thermostat doesn't work well. After a few uses, it started overheating. When cooking a couple of eggs, the eggs are boiling and bubbling, and don't taste right -- it's too hot, and there's no way to regulate time or temperature. Heat-up biscuits -- they're burning on the outside while they're still raw on the inside.
Unlike the later model, this one's cooking surface cannot be removed for cleaning. It's not only inconvenient, I think scrubbing it might have damaged the thermostat (mentioned above).
So it's poorly designed and impractical. The later model seems to address some of these concerns -- but after being "burned" once, I don't think I want anything to do with this company. They palmed off their outdated stock on me, so I won't be dealing with them again.
