Customer Review: Center carefully on the jar lid

I am buying my third One Touch Jar Opener. I have arthritis and I consider this a kitchen necessity, although I have had two that broke. I consider the breakage my fault, as I did not take the trouble to be sure the opener was exactly centered on the jar lid, so it could not get an even grip on the jar before it started turning. This gave uneven leverage and one of the grips broke, the same both times. Stronger plastic might be the answer, but I still think it is worth the price. Each opened many jars successfully.Customer Review: Couldn't open a jar without it

My aunt has RA, her hands are crippled and she could not open a jar with out this opener. With this opener it is a snap for jars with ridges in the lid. If the lids are too smooth there is nothing for it to grip and it does not work. This is her second one. The first one broke when she was trying to open a smooth lid, it kept going around until it slipped off and one of the grippers broke off. I DO recommend this for anyone with a gripping problem with their hands. This is for Jars only, not cans.Customer Review: Counterfeit OneTouchJar Opener: Buyer Beware!

The original one touch jar opener is an excellent product. Sadly, the one I purchased through Amazon was a counterfeit product - and priced very high. Let the buyers beware. Although the purchase came in a plastic container that showed a picture of the correct product, the contents were NOT the product. Lacking on the product were the OneTouch logo, the quality control sticker, and another identifying code found on an original product.Customer Review: Dangerous-A missile when it breaks

Dangerous--I loved the jar opener even though I went through three in one year because they kept breaking, each time in the same spot. The last time, the broken part--a straight piece of plastic that is part of the gear mechanism--shot off like a missile OneTouch Jar Opener. I was glad I was standing to the side and that no child was nearby watching the opener--the missile would have taken out an eye.Customer Review: Disappointed

Had one before and loved it as I have great difficulty opening jars. However a plastic part of it broke after several months. Decided to try it again figuring it might be "operator error" but this one broke within two days. Am very disappointed.
