Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of OneTouch Can OpenerCustomer Review: Dissatisfied Summary: 1 Stars
We tried it when it first arrived. I had purchased it for my husband for a hunting trip, as he only has one arm, and thought it would be easy for him to use.
It worked the one time when we tried it at home, and when he got to his destination and tried to use it, it DIDN'T work. A friend had brought a regular can opener and that is what they used the whole time they were there.
We had purchased the One Touch jar opener and have loved it. It works every time, so we are VERY unhappy that the can opener wasn't as good. I would NOT recommend it to anyone. It is a waste of money.
Customer Review: Does not work as advertised Summary: 2 Stars
The One Touch Can Opener that we bought opened four cans, but when opening the fifth can, it had barely started and then stopped. The batteries were fresh when first installed. Apparently, the batteries or something else failed as the can opener would not continue to operate and was impossible to remove from the can. As far as I can tell, there is no release mechanism to disengage the device once it has stopped while partially opening a can.
I am very disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to anyone.

Customer Review: Doesn't last!!! Summary: 2 Stars
This product doesn't last. I've had mine for 4 months and you can't do more than 1 can per episode. It stalls on large cans and has to be pulled off which is tough. It finally bit the bullet today. I don't recommend it.
Customer Review: Don't Let Batteries Run Down! Summary: 1 Stars
This opener opens the can by cutting the can on the side rather than the top. It's handy to have in your utensil drawer to impress your guests with because it will walk magically around the can and produce a safe lid but a wicked can. It has a serious flaw that I can't live with. If you place the opener on a can and the batteries go dead - which they seem to do very often, the opener will stop and can't be removed from the can without the aid of a phillips screwdriver since the battery compartment is between the can and the opener. Taking the opener off with a screwdriver requires more strength and many more turns than I can give with my Arthritis. The screw you must turn is on the underside of the opener which means you must also hold the can above your head and put up with drips from a partially opened can or turn it blindly while held over the edge of the counter. I'd much rather have a manual opener. Last time it hung on me I just threw everything away, the can, and its contents with the opener still attached. Do NOT let your batteries get weak if you opt to purchase this thing. Seems like the two AA alkaline batteries lasted me for around 5 can openings. Because of this I put in two rechargeable NiMH AAs last time and they only lasted for 2 openings.
Customer Review: Don't buy it!!! Summary: 1 Stars
The One Touch Can Opener stops working shortly after you buy it. The website says it is the last can opener you will ever buy. Not true! Mine just kept turning around and around the can. The can opener gives you a number to call but it is mechanical only and you cannot reach a person. The website does not offer the ability to email them. You are sent back to the store you purchased it from and if you don't always get things done in time like me, you are out of luck...
