This is simply a great thing to have if you bake or warm up pizza or other panless breads! A bit heavy, but it is a "stone". The size I got (16 inch) just fits into my standard size oven; probably a smaller size would have made more sense, but we use it often. If you're anal about spotless clean, the stone does stain but this does NOT effect the taste. A frozen or half-baked takeout pizza comes off the stone with a nicely baked, not soggy, crust. Toss a little corn meal on the stone immediately before placing pizza or bread and this adds to the homemade fresh scent and flavor.
