I guess some have experienced problem with the wood cracking....we've used it 4 or 5 times now, and haven't had that problem.
For what we paid for these (from memory, it was less than $20), they were a bargain. Heck, even if they fall apart after a year, who cares?
The fajitas were great...and the mitt covering the handle is a nice touch.
