I just installed these single-handedly and I am a 5'5" woman with only average DIY skill. I started to do it and thought I would regret it but it went fine inspite of the unwieldy size!
I saw these on amazon but bought at my Local Lowes for $98 for the 22x64 size so glad I went there. I have some doubts that these could ship safely but maybe they are packed better for shipping.
One important thing for shoppers... it says "for steel doors" and other descriptions on other sites say "fiberglass or steel doors" but I installed it on my wood door just fine. As long as your door has the frame around the glass it is fine. My wood door has a solid pane with grilles between the glass so maybe if you had the type with muttins on the outside of the glass it would not work, not sure. If you have a frame that can be unscrewed then these should work for you.
The look is pretty good. I loved the look of my wood blinds but they were a major inconvenience with my dog, so it is a trade off I guess. I also find the frame a bit bulky but there is no way around that since it needs to cover the current frame. When I was shopping for doors getting a door with the blinds already installed would have added $250 to the cost of the door so saving $150 is worth a slightly bulky frame. I think I will get used to it, especially once I paint it!
The function of the blinds is easy and absolutely flawless in my opinion!
